Launched in July 2013, the Virgin Islands Certified Public Managers (VI-CPM™) Program at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) is a collaborative effort between the Division of personnel (DOP) in the Office of the Governor and the University of the Virgin Islands Institute for Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness (ILOE). This program, managed and delivered by UVI-ILOE on both the St. Croix and St. Thomas campuses, is a nationally accredited, academic and professional development initiative and is produced in partnership with the Government of the US Virgin Islands. In August 2014, the VI-CPM graduated 43 members in its inaugural cohort representing government sector managers in the St. Croix and St. Thomas-St. John districts.
VI-CPM classes are held on St. Thomas and St. Croix at the University of the Virgin Islands over a 12-month period. Program participants attend classes for three (3) consecutive days monthly from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm..
The fees for the VI-CPM program are tiered based on the organization's status as a government/non-profit or private sector agency.
Government & Non-Profits:
– First priority for available scholarships will go to GVI employees;
– Additional information may be requested of applicants from non-profit organizations to
determine eligibility for available scholarships;
– Candidates selected for the Program will be notified of their status prior to the first day of
