The University of the Virgin Islands Wellness Center, located on the St. Thomas campus, has been offering aerobics and weight training since September 2010. During this time, we influenced people to improve their fitness and wellness by exercising at our gym and participating in our classes.
We provide a 6,250 square foot facility that houses a variety of fitness equipment, capable of suiting your fitness needs. We have MTS (motion technology selectorized) equipment designed to target individual muscle groups. Squat, bench and pull-up stations are available for compound movements. We also offer a wide array of cardio equipment to improve your metabolism for fat burning.
Fitness classes are hosted in our 2,800 square foot aerobics room. If these classes do not suit your needs or schedule, P90X, Insanity, and X-Factor fitness videos are available to use at your leisure. We can help you get on the right path!
A free total body analysis is available upon request. This analysis will give you an individualized body fat, muscle mass, water mass, and metabolic age report. With this baseline data, we help you chart your success!

Senior (55 years and up)
Tai-Chi Controlled movements - This class offers you a way to develop strength in a calm soothing manner. Controlled movements are used with slow transition to others allowing for great muscle tone and strength control.
Re-Quest Fitness Inspired workouts - In this class, tell the instructor what you want and it’s yours. If you are looking for intense cardio, muscle toning exercises, or focused abdominal work, make your request and see it happen.
Zumba Fitness Dance cardio exercise - This class offers an intense cardio workout using Latin and International music. It is an exhilarating, calorie-burning, body shaping dance class.
R. I. P. P. E. D. (Resistance, Interval, Power, Plyometrics, Endurance, and Diet) - This class is a new and dynamic. It provides a complete body workout, including a personal focus on diet with the instructor. For further guidelines, go to

Boot Camp Intense, intense, intense body workout - This class will help you loose weight, tone, and improve balance in one hour. An affordable personal trainer is available to give you just what you have been looking for.
Circuit Variation workout - This class will cater to all your workout needs. No time to get bored. Get a workout that is great for you at your pace. Prepare to work out and get excellent results. This class will challenge, motivate, and inspire you to continue to make fitness a part of your life.
Spin Cardio and fat burn - Spin takes cardiovascular intensity to a different level. Challenge your heart, your mind and your muscle as you continually challenge your aerobic threshold in this class. This class is guaranteed to help you burn fat and lose weight FAST.
Body Sculpting Cardio and weights. This class gives you fun, fun, and MORE fun. Sample various bits of cardio mixed in with body sculpting moves, nothing but weights bands, and the body. This class is a great fat burner and muscle maker.
