Dean Reuben

Dr. Lucy Reuben, Interim Dean of the School of Business, has extensive academic administrative experience, including serving as Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at North Carolina Central University as well as Dean and Marshall B. Williams Professor at the School of Business at South Carolina State University.  Dr. Reuben’s last academic appointment was at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, where she held faculty appointments, including Professor of the Practice of Business Administration, and she served as Curriculum Director for Duke’s LEAD Summer Business Institute.  Dr. Reuben created and directed the DukeEngage Program for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago; and she has made numerous presentations at universities in South Africa. She served as a Visiting Scholar at Duke’s John Hope Franklin Center and a Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan’s Center for the Education of Women. Other faculty appointments were at Florida A&M University and George Mason University.  Additionally, Reuben was an AASCU Millennium Leadership Institute Fellow, a Kellogg MSI Leadership Fellow and a Nissan Fellow at the University of Chicago. 

Dr. Reuben has a significant record of business and civic engagement, including serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Charlotte Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, the National Urban League’s President’s Council of Economic Advisors, the Oberlin College President’s Advisory Council and more.  A graduate of Oberlin College, Reuben earned Ph.D. and M.B.A. (With Distinction) degrees from the University of Michigan, with postdoctoral studies in business related fields. Dr. Reuben is presently President and CEO of the PhD Pipeline Opportunity Program.
