Red Ribbon Week Activities Scheduled on UVI’s Albert A. Sheen Campus

UVI’s Health Services Center on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix will host a series of Red Ribbon Week events from Oct. 23 to 30, to promote the value of being drug free, explain the dangers of alcohol, and enhance anti-violence efforts in education. Activities will include outreach efforts with UVI students making presentations on Oct. 24, at Good Shepard School and on Oct. 25, at Juanita Gardine Elementary School. A video on the dangers of drinking and driving will be presented at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Dorsch Complex residence hall. HIV testing is set at the Health Services Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28.

The second annual Enrique “KiKi” Camarena Band Against Drugs Day is planned on the campus grounds from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Activities conclude on Wednesday, Oct. 23, with a Jeopardy Game for members of the UVI Community at noon in the cafeteria, and an Alcohol, Drug and Violence Free March with the St. Croix Central High School Marching Band at 6 p.m. The march will start at the entrance to Palm Drive and conclude at the outdoor basketball court, where a session of Hoops @ Half Court, with UVI staffers playing UVI students.
