UVI Marine Students Commemorate International Earth Day with Panel Discussion

The UVI Marine and Environmental Ethics class will host a panel discussion to commemorate International Earth Day. The “Ethics in Paradise: Our Responsibility to the Sea” panel discussion will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on April 22, in the Administration and Conference Center, first-floor conference room, on the St. Thomas Campus. The public is invited.

 The discussion is being held to raise awareness about the importance of the marine environment and to encourage discussion focused on a marine environmental ethic for the territory. The panelists include:

  • Dr. Camille McKayle, UVI provost
  • Dr. Rick Nemeth, UVI research professor of zoology and marine biology
  • Nicklas Gersizi, United States Coast Guard
  • Valerie Peters, Blue Flag Conservatory
  • Kitty Edwards and Jason Quetel, C.O.R.E. Foundation
