UVI to offer Summer Marine Programs; Registration Deadline Set for June 30

The University of the Virgin Island’s Center for Marine and Environmental Studies VIMAS Program is facilitating a four-week marine science summer program for students in grades 7-12 starting on July 11, and ending August 5. This program will take place at the MacLean Marine Science Center on UVI’s St. Thomas Campus. Students will be exposed to swimming, fish identification, and science research. You can access the registration via The cost of the entire program is $150, which includes catered lunches as well as some of the various field trips on St. Thomas and St. John. Additionally, the Friends of the VI National Park will be facilitating three marine science summer camps which are free for locals aged between 7 to 17. The first camp starts on July 11, and you can register at These camps are facilitated over the course of a week and are conducted several times within the month of July.
