Entrepreneurship Certificate

The School of Business at UVI proudly offers a Certificate in Entrepreneurship, a program meticulously designed to guide participants through the crucial stages of the startup cycle. Whether you're a budding entrepreneur or simply seeking to infuse entrepreneurial thinking into your current career, this certificate will equip you with the skills needed to thrive in today’s dynamic business environment.
 
Why It’s Important for All Students: Entrepreneurial skills are not only vital for starting a business but are increasingly sought after across various industries. According to a study by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, 86% of employers seek graduates with entrepreneurial skills, such as problem-solving and innovative thinking, regardless of their major (NACE, 2022).

Program Overview: The Certificate in Entrepreneurship covers three pivotal stages: the Incubation Stage, Pre-Seed Stage, and Seed Stage. The curriculum is structured to ensure that participants acquire a robust entrepreneurial mindset and practical skills through a sequence of three progressive courses:
  
Certificate Requirements
 
 
Certificate Award: A certificate will be awarded after the successful completion (grade of C or better) of the three courses: ENT 205, ENT 300, and ENT 301.
Who Can Enroll: The certificate program is open to all UVI students from both St. Thomas and St. Croix campuses. Additionally, community members who meet the following requirements are welcome to apply:
    • High School diploma or equivalency
    • Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and math
    • Basic computer literacy
Why Enroll: Each course is crafted to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset and essential skills such as market research, problem-solving, design thinking, and product development. This program not only prepares students and community members to launch their own businesses but also equips them with valuable skills applicable in non-profits, government, corporations, and small businesses.
