About
Founded in 1962, UVI is a public, co-ed, land-grant HBCU in the United States Virgin Islands.
As a research institution, UVI invests in over a dozen research programs across many fields of study.
These areas include education, economics, agriculture and environmental research. Through their study, our faculty and students are able to inform decisions and make a positive impact in the Virgin Islands, the wider Caribbean and beyond.
Through our innovative research, UVI contributes in significant ways to the advancement of knowledge within our local community and globally. Come research our research for yourself. Part of learning is getting the chance to explore in the real world. At UVI you’ll have several opportunities to step out of the classroom and into the lab. All you need to bring is your curiosity. My advisors supported my decisions and helped to drive my interest in research. I feel very fortunate to be exposed to all the great research opportunities and friendships I have made here at UVI.
