
The Office of Research and Economic Development (ORED) is responsible for supporting and advancing both research and economic development at the university through offices and programs. The mission of ORED is to advance research, scholarly and creative pursuits, deepen and expand mutually beneficial partnerships and provide comprehensive support for technology transfer, federal relations as well as the development of corporate and foundation sponsored projects. The Vice President for Research and Economic Development (VPRED) serves as the principal resource and advisor on all matters pertaining to the development and implementation research and economic development policies, infrastructure, and programs. The ORED supports all units, faculty, students, and staff across the University to strategically advance research and related activities. The ORED also ensures that the vision, mission, and goals of Research and Economic Development aligns with and supports the mission of the University. The VPRED serves as the institutional official, the President’s designee for Technology Transfer, and facilitates opportunities for partnership to grow research excellence.
