Founded in 1962, UVI is a public, co-ed, land-grant HBCU in the United States Virgin Islands.
Sisters With Purpose will collaborate with VI Crawl, the University of the Virgin Islands Counseling Services, and the Family Resource Center in the annual Domestic Violence Awareness March & Candlelight Vigil on October 20th, 2022, at 5:30 pm. Students, faculty, and staff will walk with the community from Emile Griffith Park to Emancipation Garden. The walk starts at 5:30 pm and ends at 7:30 pm. This event aims to spread awareness of mental health, domestic violence, and suicide prevention.Family and friends of UVI and Sisters With Purpose are welcome to join and support the cause.
Their fundraising goal is to obtain $2,000 by contacting sponsors and donations. Half of the funds will go to Sisters With Purpose, and the other half will go to the Family Resource Center to help students in high school who struggle with depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts.
