About
Founded in 1962, UVI is a public, co-ed, land-grant HBCU in the United States Virgin Islands.
Every five years, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requires states and territories to update their Hazard Mitigation Plan. The Hazard Mitigation & Resilience Plan (HMRP) presents a series of strategies for the USVI to reduce risks and quickly recover from the hazards it has been enduring for centuries.
The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) and the Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency (VITEMA) seek to enhance and build supportive arrangements between planners, citizens, and Territorial agencies through this approach. These statements of need are presented for your review.
Residents will have the opportunity to provide input to define a pathway for risk reduction and resilience.
The thirty (30) day comment period is open until 11:59 PM AST on June 7, 2024.
