Wetland Reserve Tours
VIMAS offers guided tours of the wetland reserve property. The tour begins at the vehicle parking area and visits the upland shrub trail, the mangrove habitat, salt ponds and the beach trail. Along the trail plants of particular medicinal interest are pointed out. At the salt pond, visitors can spot a variety of nesting and migrating bird species. The tour is about 1 1/2 hours in length. The content of the tour can be adjusted for grade level and topic area. Visitors should wear a hat, close-toed shoes and bring plenty of water.
