The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Board of Trustees convened in regular session on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Medical Simulation Center on the Albert A. Sheen Campus. During the meeting, trustees reviewed institutional progress aligned with the University’s G.R.A.N.D. Momentum Strategic Plan and approved several governance actions supporting research integrity, institutional oversight, and philanthropic engagement.

The University of the Virgin Islands’ (UVI) Center for Marine and Environmental Studies (CMES) recently welcomed National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Senior Advisor for Coastal Inundation and Resilience, Mark Osler, along with Special Assistant and NOAA Knauss Marine Policy Fellow — and UVI alumna — Julia Plotkin, for a seminar and tour focused on advancing coastal resilience efforts and expanding career pathways for students in marine science.

The University of the Virgin Islands Center for Excellence in Leadership and Learning (UVI CELL) has launched the Young Entrepreneur Development Program, a new initiative designed to equip youth in the territory with entrepreneurship and financial empowerment skills.
