The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Voices of Inspiration Community Choir (VIOCC) is proud to announce the return of its Dare to Be Empowerment Initiative on Sunday, March 23, at 5 p.m. in the Great Hall at UVI’s Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix. This year’s theme, "Fearfully and Wonderfully Made," is designed to inspire students to recognize their intrinsic value, build confidence, and step boldly into their purpose.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Board of Trustees will meet at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, in the first-floor conference room of the LaVerne Ragster Administration and Conference Center on the Orville E. Kean Campus on St. Thomas. The meeting will begin with regular session agenda items. UVI President Dr. Safiya George will present the President’s Report followed by Board Chairman Henry Smock with the Chairman’s Comments. The Board will then consider other agenda items.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) has announced its Annual Charter Day Concert, set to take place on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at Prior Jollek Hall at Antilles School Campus, St. Thomas. Presented by the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) Communication and Performing Arts Department, the concert will showcase the talents of UVI students and faculty, reflecting the university’s commitment to artistic excellence and cultural enrichment.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) will celebrate the 63rd anniversary of its charter with events on St. Croix and St. Thomas commemorating the University’s founding in 1962 and its remarkable achievements over the years. Adrianne Todman, former Acting Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), will keynote the 63rd Charter Day Ceremony which will take place on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Great Hall on the Albert A. Sheen Campus, St. Croix.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) is hosting a series of events to honor the historic inauguration of its sixth president, Dr. Safiya George, and celebrate the 63rd anniversary of its charter. Community members, alumni, friends and supporters are encouraged to participate in the celebrations, which will culminate with the official investiture ceremony on March 17.

Two University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Hospitality and Tourism Management students received a scholarship award of $10,000 each that will propel their future educational and career goals. Last month, Mekeisha Milfred and Judah Frett were awarded the 2025-2026 Margaritaville Vacation Club Scholarship from local vacation club resort Margaritaville Vacation Club – St. Thomas, which is part of Travel + Leisure Co., a leading vacation ownership and membership travel company.
