Founded in 1962, UVI is a public, co-ed, land-grant HBCU in the United States Virgin Islands.
Members of the media are invited to cover and photograph the University of the Virgin Islands Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for the Medical Simulation Center on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix on Wednesday, June 29, from 9:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The celebration will include remarks from the Honorable Dennis Alvord, deputy assistant secretary for Economic Development and Chief Operating Officer, University President David Hall; Oran C. Roebuck, Vice-Chair of UVI Board of Trustees, U.S. Virgin Islands Gov. Albert Bryan, Jr., Vice President of Thirty-Fourth Legislature Novelle Francis and Delegate to Congress Stacey E. Plaskett. Tours of the Simulation Center will be available after the ribbon-cutting portion of the ceremony. There will be demonstrators of simulation equipment and virtual reality trainers.
