Land Grant 50th Anniversary

Media Invited to Cover and Photograph UVI 50th Land-Grant Anniversary Ceremony 

Members of the media are invited to cover and photograph the University of the Virgin Islands School of Agriculture on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on Wednesday, June 22, at 9 a.m. for the opening ceremony of the 50thLand-Grant Anniversary.   

The mission of the School of Agriculture is to provide innovative and cutting-edge research, teaching, and extension programs that respond to the educational, social, economic, and environmental needs of the people of the Virgin Islands as well as Caribbean region. UVI President Dr. David Hallsaid,“The UVI School of Agriculture’s creation is a testament of the University’s commitment to its land-grant mission and to the people of the Territory.”  

The public is invited to attend but must adhere to the in-person COVID-19 Protocol. Attendees are strongly encouraged to wear a facemask, show proof of vaccination and if unvaccinated, must provide a 24-hour negative COVID-19 rapid test antigen or PCR test result from a valid lab, physician or the V.I. Department of Health with a valid I.D.
