The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) basketball teams will host Buccaneer Madness on November 3, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Elridge Wilburn Blake Sports and Fitness Center. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Both men’s and women’s basketball teams will be introduced and participate in separate 3-point shooting contests. Each team will compete in an intrasquad scrimmage, giving fans the first live look at the 2023-2024 rosters. The fan favorite, slam dunk contest, will conclude the night with select participants from the Buccaneer men’s basketball team.

“I am very excited to host the first Buccaneer Madness of my tenure,” said UVI director of athletics Dr. Karen Carty. “It will be a great night of fun and basketball and the community will get a preview of what our teams have to offer for the upcoming season.”

Buccaneer Madness is free and open to the public. Live performances and other entertainment will be provided. Prizes and giveaways will be on hand for spectators in attendance.
