About
Founded in 1962, UVI is a public, co-ed, land-grant HBCU in the United States Virgin Islands.
Members of the media are invited to cover and photograph a special convocation with United States Senator Raphael Warnock on Wednesday, April 3, at 1 p.m. in the Elridge W. Blake Sports and Fitness Center at the University of the Virgin Islands’ Orville E. Kean Campus on St. Thomas.
Reverend Warnock serves as pastor at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, which is the historical parish of late Civil Rights Leader Reverand Dr. Maritn Luthor King, Jr. and is the first Black Democrat U.S. Senator elected in the State of Georgia. Sen. Warnock is no stranger to the University; he gave the keynote address and received an honorary degree at UVI’s 2021 commencement ceremony held virtually during the pandemic
The community is encouraged to join the University community for this significant visit. Please RSVP by Monday, April 1, by sending an email to pr@uvi.edu.
