Members of the media are invited to cover and photograph the University of the Virgin Islands Fall 2024 launch of its Essential Needs Pantry and listen in on Power Panel Discussions on Nov. 13, and 14, on the University’s campuses on St. Thomas and St. Croix, respectively.

The Essential Needs Pantry will provide vital resources for University students by decreasing food insecurity within the student body and feature a professional dress closet, ensuring that students have access to appropriate attire.  The Power Panel Discussion will be led by Dr. Robin Williams and Tammye Jones from Easten Area, The Links, Incorporated, who have partnered with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) on the launch of the pantry and the panel discussion. During the panel discussion, Williams and Jones will discuss essential topics related to student’s needs and community support meant to empower students.

The Essential Needs Pantry and Power Panel event will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 13, in the first-floor Conference room of the LaVerne E. Ragster Administration and Conference Center Building on the Orville E. Kean Campus on St. Thomas. The event will continue on St. Croix on Thursday, Nov. 14, on the Great House Grounds and in the Great House, on the first floor, on the Albert A. Sheen Campus. Both events start at 1:30 p.m.
