The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) has announced the addition of two accomplished professionals to its leadership team.  Sharon Amey has joined UVI as the Internal Auditor, and Ian M. Roach has assumed the role of Special Assistant to the President. Both individuals bring a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to serving the Virgin Islands community.  

Sharon Amey, a St. Thomas native, brings over two decades of experience in risk management, internal auditing, and financial compliance. Her extensive tenure at the VI Office of Management and Budget included the establishment of a Compliance Unit that coordinated financial management across government agencies. Her certifications as a Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Program Manager reflect her expertise and dedication to operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. Amey is also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors. Her academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science in Office Administration from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and a Master’s in Biblical Studies from the Christian International Ministry School of Theology. She is presently working on obtaining a master's degree in business administration from Western Governors University.   

Ian Roach, a native of the U.S. Virgin Islands, brings over 15 years of expertise in policy analysis, operations management, and strategic planning. During his tenure at the National Association of Realtors, he developed a strong ability to analyze complex legislative and regulatory proposals, deliver insights for Congressional testimonies, and optimize organizational operations.  He began his undergraduate studies at Howard University and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Arizona Global Campus. His return to the Virgin Islands represents both a personal and professional milestone, as he dedicates himself to making a meaningful impact at UVI and within the broader community. In his role, he will provide administrative and communications support to the president, with responsibilities including schedule management, community engagement, special projects, research, and process improvement.  Sharon Amey, UVI Auditor
