Members of the media are invited to cover and photograph the University of the Virgin Islands' 63rd Charter Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, in the Great Hall on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix. The ceremony will be live streamed to UVI’s Facebook and YouTube Channels and can also be viewed in the first-floor conference room of the LaVerne E. Ragster Administrative and Conference Center on the Orville E. Kean Campus on St. Thomas.

Former Acting United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary and a native Virgin Islander, Adriane Todman, will serve as the keynote speaker. The celebration will include performances by UVI students, live music, and light refreshments.

Originally chartered as the College of the Virgin Islands on March 16, 1962, UVI has grown to become one of the leading coeducational, liberal arts institutions in the region and is the only Historically Black College or University (HBCU) outside the mainland United States. Join us in celebrating 63 years of UVI's commitment to enhancing educational aspirations in the Virgin Islands and beyond.
