The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) has announced its Annual Charter Day Concert, set to take place on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at Prior Jollek Hall at Antilles School Campus, St. Thomas.
Presented by the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) Communication and Performing Arts Department, the concert will showcase the talents of UVI students and faculty, reflecting the university’s commitment to artistic excellence and cultural enrichment.
Open to the public, the concert promises an evening of captivating performances, including:
“The Charter Day Concert is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the arts and the many talented students and faculty at UVI,” said Dr. Kimarie Engerman, dean of CLASS. “This year’s concert is especially significant as it coincides with the inauguration of our sixth president, Dr. Safiya George. We invite the community to join us for an evening of music, dance and artistic expression.”
UVI’s Charter Day celebrations take place every March to commemorate the University’s founding in 1962. This year’s events include the Charter Day Ceremony on Friday, March 14, and the Investiture Ceremony for UVI’s sixth president, Dr. Safiya George, on Monday, March 17.
Tickets for the Charter Day concert are $10 for students and $20 for adults and can be purchased at the UVI Bookstore or at the door. Refreshments will be available for purchase courtesy of Nibbs Catering.
