The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) is proud to announce the appointment of Adrianne Todman as its Inaugural Fellow on Public Administration and Service, effective April 1, 2025. A distinguished leader in housing policy and public service, Todman brings a wealth of experience, vision, and dedication to this new role, which is poised to significantly enrich the academic and professional development of UVI students and the wider University community.
As Inaugural Fellow, Todman will engage with the UVI community through a variety of initiatives focused on learning, mentorship, and leadership development. She will deliver two to three Distinguished Lectures each semester, offering invaluable insights to students, faculty, and staff. Select lectures will also be open to alumni, fostering broader engagement across the UVI network. Todman will also provide mentorship and personalized guidance to Public Administration students.
“It is an honor to return to the Virgin Islands in this capacity and to contribute to the academic growth and professional development of UVI students,” said Todman, whose inaugural lecture will take place this spring. “Public service has shaped my life and career, and I look forward to engaging with the next generation of leaders who will shape the future of our communities, both here in the Virgin Islands and beyond.”

A native of the U.S. Virgin Islands, Todman has dedicated her career to expanding opportunities for communities across the country. She is a graduate of Smith College and has held prominent leadership positions, most recently at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as the Acting Secretary during the Biden-Harris Administration.
