Founded in 1962, UVI is a public, co-ed, land-grant HBCU in the United States Virgin Islands.
The bachelor of business administration degree with a major in Hospitality and Tourism Management is a professional management program designed to provide students with the necessary academic and practical knowledge to manage various levels of tourism in the Virgin Islands and other tourism markets. Students are taught the role of tourism in local and global economies and practice their knowledge base, problem solving skills, and profit earning opportunities with profit seeking firms.
Students receiving the Hospitality and Tourism Management degree are prepared to become hospitality professionals who possess the business knowledge, managerial skills, and professional competencies to obtain entry level management positions in this industry.
The program’s mission is to empower a diverse and global population of student professionals who will develop into strong leaders within the hospitality industry through academic excellence, industry work experience, and community service.
The bachelor of business administration (B.B.A.) degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management at the University of the Virgin Islands is designed to follow the standards advanced by the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA).
