College of Science & Mathematics
Dual Degree Engineering Program
Graduation Requirements.
Students follow a course of studies similar or
identical to those taken by many of our science majors, along with a few further required
courses.
The course paradigm is designed to
assure that a BS degree can be completed after two additional years at a partner institution.
The program also imposes a strict minimum GPA requirement to guarantee the greatest
possible chance of success.
The following courses at the University of the Virgin Islands are required for students to graduate with this degree. (This list does not include general education requirements.)
| Required courses in Mathematics | |
|---|---|
| MAT 241-242 | Introductory Calculus I-II |
| MAT 341-342 | Intermediate Calculus II-III |
| MAT 261 | Linear Algebra |
| MAT 346 | Differential Equations |
| MAT 397-398 | Junior Mathematics Seminar |
| Required courses in Related Fields | |
|---|---|
| CHE 151-152 | General Chemistry |
| PHY 241-242 | General Physics |
| PHY 341 | Modern Physics |

| ECO 221 | Intro to Macro-Economics |
To complete the applied mathematics degree the student must complete the second degree at the affiliated partner institution.
In addition to these required courses, the student is strongly advised to take more courses related to his/her chosen field of specialization. For example, a student interested in Chemical Engineering will take many Chemistry courses.
