Bachelor of Science in Mathematics
The Mathematics major provides strong preparation for a wide variety of interests
and career goals. The undergraduate mathematics courses prepare majors for graduate
study, for positions in government and industry, and for the teaching profession.
UVI offers a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Science degree. Faculty advisors
are available to speak to current and prospective mathematics majors regarding course
planning, career opportunities, and preparation for graduate school preparation.

Graduating with a major in mathematics can prepare you for a wide range of career
options if you are willing to invest the time required to perform well. Examples

What is perhaps more significant is that a mathematics major has skills needed by professionals in other areas who need mathematical models to gain insights or plan future work; this includes health professionals, urban planners, natural resource managers, and many others.
Entry level courses can be completed on either campus, but degree must be completed on St. Thomas campus.
Concentrations in Computational Biology and Computer Science are available.
