The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) and the Virgin Islands Small Business Development Center (VI SBDC) invite the public to the launch of the Virgin Islands Agriculture Business Center (VI AgBC) on Thursday, Dec. 7, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Great Hall on the University’s Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) women’s basketball team ended their season-opening road trip with a 78-61 loss in their second matchup with Florida Memorial University (FMU) at the FMU Wellness Center in Miami Gardens, Florida on Thursday night.

Graduate forward Maurice Smith, Jr. posted a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds, both game highs, to lead the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Buccaneers men’s basketball to an 82-68 exhibition game win over the VI Elite Pros on Saturday night at the Elridge Blake Sports and Fitness Center.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Buccaneers men’s basketball team fell to the Lions of Florida Memorial University (FMU) on Thursday night, 78-52, at the Florida Memorial Wellness Center in Miami Gardens. After dropping the final game of their road trip, the team falls to 0-2 on the season.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) hosted representatives from the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), the nation’s largest organization exclusively representing publicly funded Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other predominantly black institutions.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) men’s basketball team fell 67-49 to nationally-ranked St. Thomas University on Wednesday night at the Fernandez Family Center in Miami Gardens, Florida. This was the first matchup of a two-game road trip in South Florida for the Buccaneers.

Early in the morning of Oct. 17, a 4.85m (15.9 ft) long Cuvier’s Beaked Whale (Ziphius cavirostris) was seen “thrashing” about in the water in Fish Bay, St. John. Construction workers who were near the site saw it swim out of the bay, but shortly afterward observed it drifting back. The construction team notified a UVI Masters in Marine and Environmental Science student, Lila Uzzell.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) School of Nursing (SON) will soon have a brand-new, state-of-the-art learning facility. At the official groundbreaking ceremony held yesterday on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix, UVI officials, government dignitaries, students, and guests gathered to celebrate the construction of the 11,800 square foot building that will serve as the learning center for nursing students and house the University’s Health Services Department.

Junior guard Jalil Langston led the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) men’s basketball team to an 88-82 exhibition game win over the V.I. Elite Pros 88-82 at the Elridge Blake Sports and Fitness Center on Friday night. Langston exploded for 19 of his 21 points in the second half to help guide his team to the win.
