Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Performance

Interested students must follow the entrance requirements for the university.  In addition, fine arts entrance requirements must be satisfied one (1) week before classes begin.  Students must be either able to successfully complete a music theory placement exam or register for Introduction to Music (Music 124) during the semester of entry. An entrance audition must also be completed one week before classes begin.

Music Theory Placement Exam

Entrance exams include a written music theory portion. The exam will assess the student's knowledge of basic theoretical principles and practices. Students will need to exhibit proficiency in the following:

Unsuccessful candidates will need to enroll in MUS 124 Introduction to Music.

If a student enters outside of the scheduled entrance examination period, the entrance audition and theory placement exam are also given just before the beginning of the semester.
