University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) President Dr. David Hall addressed the UVI community on Tuesday, June 30, during a virtual town hall meeting to discuss the University’s fall 2020 semester plans and operations, in light of the continued challenges posed by COVID-19. Dr. Hall outlined plans to gradually resume in-person instruction this fall with restrictions and preventative measures to ensure the safety of students, employees and the public.

Less than three years after Hurricanes Irma and Maria slammed into the U.S. Virgin Islands, Intellectual Global Concepts, LLC (IGC), a local technology, media and entertainment company, hosts the 2020 Music is Life Festival on Feb. 28—an event focused on supporting music students at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) who were directly impacted by the disaster.

Spring semester classes at the University of the Virgin Islands are scheduled to begin on Monday, Jan. 13. Online registration for continuing UVI students is available, with access through the University’s BanWeb registration and MyCampus portal. Late registration for new and continuing students is set for Friday, Jan. 10. In the regular session of its quarterly meeting on March 3, on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix and the Administration and Conference Center Building on the St. Thomas Campus, the University of the Virgin Islands Board of Trustees unanimously approved a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies – Strategic Communications to be offered as part of the UVI Online program.
