The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) is honored to announce that Keisha Lance Bottoms, former mayor of Atlanta, who previously served as senior advisor and director of the White House Office of Public Engagement, will serve as the keynote speaker at UVI’s 60th Commencement Ceremonies. The event will take place on May 9, on the Orville E. Kean Campus on St. Thomas and on May 10, on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix. Both ceremonies will commence at 1 p.m.

Members of the media are invited to cover and photograph the University of the Virgin Islands Dean’s List Reception and Award Ceremony on Sunday, April 14, in the Eldridge W. Blake Sports and Fitness Center on the Orville E. Kean Campus on St. Thomas. The reception start time is 2 p.m. and the program portion begins at 3 p.m. Students are being recognized for Fall and Spring 2023.

In celebration of the 70th Anniversary of Brown versus Board of Education, the landmark U.S. Superior Court decision that made racial segregation illegal in public schools, the University of the Virgin Islands' College of Liberal Arts and Social Science (UVI CLASS,) will host a Fireside Chat to discuss this ruling on Wednesday, April 10, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Evans Center Suite 401 (EVC401- Little Theatre) on UVI’s Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) men’s and women’s track and field teams opened up their 2024 season this past weekend at the University of Central Florida’s “Knight Invite”.
