In anticipation of its upcoming 40th anniversary, The Caribbean Writer (TCW) is issuing a dual call for submissions under the theme: “40 years of The Caribbean Writer: A Spectrum of Representation.” We invite contributors to explore this theme in all its permutations with works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, essays, or one-act plays.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI), in partnership with the GRROE USVI Mangroves team, hosted its first “Mangroves in the Classroom” (MIC) Educator Workshop on St. Croix on July 28. Held at UVI’s Albert A. Sheen Campus Great Hall, the full-day workshop introduced educators to MIC’s interactive, science-based curriculum and focused on adapting lessons for middle school learners and bringing the MIC program to St. Croix.

UVI to Implement Tuition & Fee Adjustments Beginning August 2025

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) has announced an adjustment to tuition and fees for the 2025–2026 academic year, effective August 1, 2025. The change will impact both UVI’s Online Division (UVI Online) and traditional on-campus and virtual course offerings. The tuition increase, which reflects rising operational and instructional costs, will help the University continue providing a high-quality, student-centered education while maintaining the critical services and academic resources that support student success.
UVI Ocean Point Terminals gift presentation

Ocean Point Terminals has reaffirmed its commitment to education and workforce development in the U.S. Virgin Islands with a $140,000 contribution to the University of the Virgin Islands Process Technology Program. The gift was presented during a check presentation ceremony held on July 18, at UVI’s Research and Technology Park on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix.
