The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) is pleased to announce that United States Senator Raphael Warnock will be the guest speaker at a special convocation on Wednesday, April 3, at 1 p.m. in the Elridge Wilburn Blake Sports and Fitness Center on UVI's Orville E. Kean Campus on St. Thomas. The convocation will be livestreamed on UVI's Facebook page @UVI.edu and YouTube page @UVIvideos, allowing a wider audience to participate in this special event.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) men’s and women’s track and field teams opened up their 2024 season this past weekend at the University of Central Florida’s “Knight Invite”. They competed in the two-day event among NCAA Division I and II institutions including nationally recognized powerhouse universities such as Clemson, Rutgers, Yale, and Penn State.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Buccaneer men’s and women's track and field teams head into the 2024 season with a clean slate as they will make their initial appearance in the NAIA’s Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. Both teams will return to competition after being inactive for the last three years.

In the regular session of its quarterly meeting on Saturday, March 9, 2024, in the Medical Simulation Center on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix, the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve two new academic degree programs – a Professional Science Master’s Degree in Marine and Environmental Science and an Associate of Arts Degree in General Studies.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) will host a month-long celebration in honor of its 62nd Charter Day anniversary. Charter Day commemorates the University's founding and recognizes its remarkable achievements over the years. This year’s celebrations will include annual events such as Afternoon on the Green and the 13D Innovation Center’s Business Leadership Lecture, as well as alumni socials, musical celebrations, athletic events, and lively activities for students.

The Caribbean Writer (TCW) in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences of the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) together with the Virgin Islands Literary Festival and Book Fair, LLC (VI Lit Fest) will host the 10th iteration of the VI Lit Fest, April 11 through 14, under the community-focused theme: “Legacies: Reckoning and Resilience.” This year’s event will share its theme with Volume 38 of TCW, currently being prepped for publication.
