Two University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Hospitality and Tourism Management students received a scholarship award of $10,000 each that will propel their future educational and career goals. Last month, Mekeisha Milfred and Judah Frett were awarded the 2025-2026 Margaritaville Vacation Club Scholarship from local vacation club resort Margaritaville Vacation Club – St. Thomas, which is part of Travel + Leisure Co., a leading vacation ownership and membership travel company.

The University of the Virgin Islands’ (UVI) Reichhold Center for the Arts (RCA) is pleased to present “RCA Sessions on the Floor: Passport Edition,” featuring Grammy-nominated reggae sensation Ky-Mani Marley. The celebrated musician will perform alongside local favorites Dublab Reggae Band and Lourdes & the Switch on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Elridge W. Blake Sports and Fitness Center on UVI’s Orville E. Kean Campus on St. Thomas.

In January, an international team of researchers from the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI), University of Rhode Island, East Carolina University, University of Papua, the National Research and Innovation Agency, and the Indonesia Climate Change Trust Fund convened in West Papua to explore effective strategies for conserving and restoring mangrove and seagrass ecosystems. This meeting was a pivotal step in preparing for the establishment of a Global Center for Blue Climate Solutions.

Kean Campus on St. Thomas and on March 15, 2025, on St. John Community Resource and Development Center, St. John Marketplace 2nd floor. This transformative summit is designed to inspire, educate, and equip students ages 12-18 with the tools and skills they need to succeed in their academic, personal, and professional lives.

The Recovery Innovation Coordinator and Center of Excellence (RICCE), a program of the Democratic Training Institute, is partnering with the University of the Virgin Islands Center for Excellence in Leadership and Learning (UVI CELL) to offer nonprofit professionals a free online workshop titled "Tools for Grant Award Implementation: Turning Awards into Achievements”. The workshop will take place on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. AST.
