The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) celebrated a significant milestone, awarding certificates to 41 graduates of its nationally accredited Certified Public Manager™ (CPM) program.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) celebrated a pivotal moment in its history with the ribbon cutting of its state-of-the-art School of Medicine Classroom Building and Biomedical Laboratory which comprise its Medical Research and Training Center in St. Thomas. The event which took place yesterday afternoon at the Orville E. Kean Campus signaled a transformative advancement in UVI’s vision to establish an accredited medical school in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

University of the Virgin Islands first-year director of athletics Dr. Karen Carty was named the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) Athletics Director of the Year as announced by GCAC Commissioner Dr. Kiki Baker Barnes at the league’s year-end business meeting, which was held at Philander Smith University in Little Rock, Ark. on June 17-19.

The University of the Virgin Islands Board of Trustees will meet at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, in the Medical Research and Training Center on the Orville E. Kean Campus on St. Thomas. The meeting will begin with regular session agenda items and will continue with the election of officers. A slate of candidates for the positions of chair and vice chair has been developed and will be presented to the Board for their deliberation and action.

The University of the Virgin Islands’ (UVI) Reichhold Center for the Arts (RCA) presents the 2nd Annual Blue Horizon Concert on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024, featuring four-time Grammy-nominated reggae band UB40. The outdoor concert will take place on the Herman E. Moore Golf Course on the Orville E. Kean Campus on St. Thomas at 6 p.m.

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) is excited to announce that part-time and online students are now eligible for the Free Tuition Scholarship program thanks to new legislation that expands eligibility criteria to include more Virgin Islands residents seeking their first undergraduate degree. In addition, new UVI policies have been implemented to help students maximize financial aid through the Free Tuition Scholarship program and other supplemental sources including federal, private and local awards.
