In a special meeting of the University of the Virgin Islands Board of Trustees held on Sept. 11, the Board received updates on the proposed UVI School of Medicine and Eco Industrial Park.

A special meeting of the University of the Virgin Islands Board of Trustees will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, in room 303 of the Administration and Conference Center on St. Thomas and in the conference room of the RTPark, 64 West Center, on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix.

The Reichhold Center for the Arts unveiled its 2014-2015 season on Aug. 28, with the biggest names in the music industry. This season Reichhold brings seven of the best performers to the stage – from dance to vocal musicianship and theatrical illusion.

The University of the Virgin Islands Research and Technology Park’s (RTPark) 64 West Center building was awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)® Silver Certification in August. LEED, which was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the nation’s preeminent program for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.

The University of the Virgin Islands has appointed Dr. Beverley Anne Lansiquot to serve as dean of the School of Nursing. Dr. Lansiquot is a graduate of the then College of the Virgin Islands, having earned her associate degree in nursing on the St. Thomas Campus.

The University of the Virgin Islands’ Reichhold Center for the Arts will unveil its 36th season of entertainment at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, during a St. Thomas/St. John Chamber of Commerce Business after Hours reception.

UVI welcomes a new class of new and transfer students with a week of orientation activities beginning Monday, Aug. 18.

UVI President Dr. David Hall, on the behalf of the entire University family – the Board of Trustees, foundation boards, faculty, staff, students and alumni – has extended sincerest condolences to Mrs. Doris Todman, UVI Professor of Psychology Dr. Patricia Todman, other family, friends and loved ones of former U.S. Ambassador Terence A. Todman, who died on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Schneider Hospital on St. Thomas.
